ReCare manages the end-to-end process of facilitating an early return to health and work for injured workers. This is achieved through the timely and comprehensive assessment of the needs of both the worker and their pre-injury employer throughout the duration of the referral. Our assessments consider the biological, psychological, behavioural, social, and economic factors impacting the worker. By addressing these multifaceted elements, ReCare supports the improvement of functional capacity, facilitates effective recovery, and maximises independence, enabling a safe and sustainable return to work or recovery at work.

Return to work Planning

Planning involves a systematic approach to facilitate a successful return to work by carefully determining an individual’s capacity and identifying appropriate interventions to address barriers. It also includes exploring suitable work options that align with the person's abilities and circumstances. Central to this process is the collaborative setting of SMART goals — Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, and Time-bound — which provide clear, actionable objectives related to recovery at work. This structured planning supports sustainable reintegration into the workplace while promoting ongoing health and productivity.

Implementation of workplace rehabilitation services

In the implementation and review phase, both the worker and the Nominated Treating Doctor (NTD) would have committed fully to the Return to Work (RTW) plan. This mutual commitment is essential to ensure active participation and flexibility, facilitating responsiveness to the worker’s ongoing recovery and workplace adjustments. Regular reviews allow for monitoring progress, identifying any barriers, and making timely modifications to the RTW plan. This collaborative approach supports a safe and sustainable return to work, aligning recovery goals with workplace capabilities and requirements.

Job skills training and job seeking

Our approach focuses on empowering workers by equipping them with independent job-seeking skills essential for securing suitable employment. We provide tailored support that includes developing effective resumes, refining interview techniques, and enhancing job search strategies. Through personalised guidance and practical activities, we assist workers in identifying opportunities that match their skills and aspirations, fostering confidence and self-reliance in the job market. This comprehensive support ensures workers are well-prepared to navigate the employment landscape independently and successfully.
